CONCEPT

Music for small rooms, soft screens, and unhurried lives.

The world already has more than enough “relaxing BGM”. RomanceBGM does something narrower: we write music for people who prefer quiet rooms, long evenings, light rain, heavy thoughts, and slow romance.

We stay away from loud drops, big builds, or “motivational” formulas.
We design for one or two people in a room – not a huge crowd.
We mix Japanese sense of silence with cinematic and ambient traditions.
We are happy when your listeners say: “I almost didn’t notice the music… but it felt right.”

            Our specialty is not happiness, but presence.

        We are happy to stay in the background.

        Our goal is not to be noticed first – it is to make your work feel  
        inevitable, as if the music was always supposed to be there.
      

LICENSING

Simple rights, clear borders.

We try to keep licensing as quiet as the music itself – no legal fog, no surprise traps. The exact wording will be in the license files, but the idea is simple:

Creator License (Standard)

· Use in YouTube / Twitch / podcast / small games and apps
· Monetization allowed within normal platform rules
· Non-exclusive: others may use the same track

This is the default for Theme Packs and smaller projects.

Custom & Larger Use

· Film festivals, streaming platforms, TV, bigger commercial campaigns
· Possible semi-exclusive or time-limited exclusivity
· Contract and quote based on your territory and scale

Tell us honestly what you are making and how large it is – we prefer clear, honest agreements over complicated documents.

All licensing is handled directly between you and RomanceBGM / Black Cat Soundworks, without third-party libraries in the middle.

Who is behind RomanceBGM?

RomanceBGM is the export-facing sound label of 黒猫ロマンス Sound BGM × 黒猫Soundworks, a small Japanese creative studio that builds quiet worlds across music, words, and moving images.

We work from Japan, close to mountains, rain, and quiet towns.
We design audio not just for “relaxation”, but for narratives and specific emotional states.
We collaborate with other Black Cat projects: Occult-Academy, quiet film labels, and cultural sites.
We treat sound as part of a room or scene – like furniture, light, or the way someone breathes.

            Philosophy:  
            Quiet is not the absence of sound.  
            It is a careful choice about what is allowed to stay.
